Simply Good News!

The gospel has been around for 2,000 years---but what is "newsworthy" about it? And what makes it good? Believing that many of today's Christians have lost sight of its true meaning, Wright demonstrates how a first-century audience would have received the message, what the "good news" really is, and how it can transform our lives today.

This three-week course (Oct. 4/5, 11/12 & 18/19) will be facilitated by our own Rev. Dr. Brett Cane with discussions based on the videos given by NT (Tom) Wright.

The course is based on the book “Simply Good News” authored by Wright. Here is a review of the book as written by “The News & Observer”. “Takes aim at pious church-going Christians who cling to a naive but persistent belief--that Jesus’ teaching is all about getting your caboose into Heaven. . . . Wright is a giant among conservative Christian thinkers, often compared to C.S. Lewis in stature and influence.”

Owning the book is not necessary for the course but would be helpful. If anyone would like a copy of this book I would be happy to get a copy for you. The cost is $25.00 for a hard cover copy. (The soft cover version isn’t out until next year.)
