Communication Corner May 30, 2019 Ascension Day

Greetings on this the Day that we celebrate and mark the Ascension of Jesus

Join me as we pray this day: “Gracious and loving God, whose blessed Son our Savior Jesus Christ ascended far above all heavens that he might fill all things:

Mercifully give us faith to perceive that, according to his promise, he abides with his Church on earth, even to the end of the ages; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.”

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who had any role in the Annual Spring Fling. It seems to have been a huge success all around. We give thanks to God for our parish family and our lager surrounding community for supporting these church events.

On Sunday in the Gospel we will hear that Jesus prayed for all believers. The exciting part of this is that it means that Jesus prays for you and for me. The challenge for us is to have listening hearts and slow ourselves down enough to respond within our prayer lives as well as ask and thank.

With that in mind, I conclude this message with yet another prayer. “God help me (us) now to unclutter my life, to organize myself in the direction of simplicity. Teach me to listen to my heart; teach me to welcome change; instead of fearing it.”
