ISLAND UKELELES
School District 61's Ukelele Ensembles have been entertaining audiences of all ages for over 35 years with a repertoire ranging from traditional Hawaiian style music to jazz, swing, classical pop and rock music.
The “A” Ensemble is an exceptional group of auditioned 12 to 18 year old students drawn from different middle and high schools in our community. In addition to performing for student and seniors groups, Island Ukuleles undertakes an annual international Concert Tour.
For this special performance you will also experience the “B” group, which is comprised of 23 students in grades 3 to 7 from 17 elementary and middle schools across Victoria. Some of the students have just started playing ukulele this past September while others have been playing for up to 6 years.
We welcome these talented performers under the direction of music educator and leader, Tina Horwood.
Tickets are $15 from Sue Smith or at the door. Children under 12 are free admission. Great free parking. No stairs to climb.
All in the Parish of Central Saanich are warmly invited, as are everyone else in the community.
