The Parish of Central Saanich is seeking a permanent part time (20 hrs/week) Administrative Assistant to start April 1, 2026 or as the hire takes place.
The Administrative Assistant’s role is to assist with the administration of the church. Reporting to the incumbent priest, they will work with the parish council, bookkeeper, volunteers and community partners to serve the church and the local community.
The assistant performs a broad spectrum of tasks including responding to enquiries, scheduling rentals, maintaining the church website and records, and publishing the weekly newsletter.
The position requires at least a grade 12 diploma. Some post-secondary training and experience with managing a business office is preferred. Applicants should be familiar with the use of computers, internet, and web based software and publishing tools. The position also calls for excellent interpersonal skills, and some pastoral skill for interacting with the public and with parishioners.
