Overview Central Saanich United Church

10.29: Decisons reached Oct. 29: Next meeting Dec. 3 @ 10:30.

  1. The security from this section of the ParishCS.ca website will be removed, to share the items being discussed. A designated person from the United Church will contact Derek about connecting the respective websites.
  2. Bob and another recipient from the United Church will be added to the ParishCS website email list to be kept current with the Updates distributed by Parish of Central Saanich. Similarily, the admin staff of the Central Saanich United Church will add Lon, Leslie Pedlow, and Derek to their distribution list.
  3. Church Services in the Future: This Thursday, Bob, Lon, and Matt Humphrey will visit and look at the suggested location for a future Wild Church service. The total number of people for the first future event was discussed at 20, ten for Parish of Central Saanich and 10 from Sannichton United. This is in consideration of the owners of the property. We will talk about numbers and locations for future events.
  4. Following a discussion of potential opportunities to share common interestes/initiatives, the United Church agreed to provide collection bags  and to pick up and distribute items from the ParishCS (warm clothing and mitts). A copy of the announcement used by the United Church will be forwarded to the Parish of CS.
  5. Lon's offer to lead a Workshop on Truth & Reconciliation  (First Nations) early in 2021 was eagerly accepted. He asked to be copied by way of introduction to John Snow - Bob agreed to follow up.                  

A list of Proposed Joint activities with St. Mary’s has been prepared by the United Church to facilitate the discussion and exploration of joint activities in service to, or in partnership with, the wider community. The list began to cover the short term (1 year), Mid-Term (1-3 years) and Long Term (3+ years).

A similar list for discussion purposes was prepared by the Parish of Central Saanich.
